Red Label equals high emissions
An online poll commissioned by Auto Express revealed 60% of new car buyers would be affected by the government's new colour coded eco labeling system for cars. The new scheme is voluntary and cars will be graded according to the emissions into coloured bands, red for high and green for low emissions. Owners will then be able to display stickers on their window screen according to the emissions grade for vehicles.
Of the 400 individuals, 276 of those surveyed said they would purchase a model with lower emissions, in order to prevent the display of a red sticker on their windscreen.
